The Lipstick Tag

As with most tags that I do on this blog, no one specifically tagged me. I saw this on another blog and decided to go for it!

Here's the Lipstick Tag!

1. How many lipsticks do you own?

42! I couldn't find two to get them in the picture. I've really downsized my collection lately.

2. What is the first lipstick that you owned?

That depends on your definition of lipstick. Burt's Bees' lip shimmer in Raisin was the first coloured lip product I ever owned, I've had it for something like 11 years (I should probably throw it out). The first actual lipstick that I picked out and purchased for myself was Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Icy Violet, about three years ago.
3. What is your favourite lipstick brand?

A few weeks ago, I would have said Revlon. But I have three different formulations of KVD lipstick found at Marshall's and every single one knocks it out of the park. I have yet to try her studded kiss lipsticks- I'm almost afraid to, as I've heard they're nowhere near as good as the old Painted Loves.

4. What is your most-worn lipstick?

e.l.f.'s studio line moisturizing lipstick in Rosy-go-Round. It's about ready to break off at the base. :( I don't want to depot it, I'll just have to buy another.

5. What is the most recent lipstick you bought?

I picked up these L.A. Girl Glazed Lip Paints at Marshall's. I love them!

6. What's your go-to when you want to rock a red lip?

Bite Beauty's Pomegranate High Pigment lip pencil with Joe Fresh's Deep Red lip liner! It's so very christmas. For a brighter red I use e.l.f.'s moisturizing lipstick in Velvet Rope, or Anna Sui lip rouge in 460.

7. What lipsticks are you currently lusting after?

Oh, so many. But my main two:

Kat Von D Everlasting Love Liquid Lipstick in A-Go-Go

And NARS Audacious lipstick in Juliette.

Review: Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon

Hey guys, long time no post! I'm here today to review the new Maybelline Brow Drama Pomade Crayon. This is an interesting product for sure- one of the many new and exciting things Maybelline has put out for us this spring. The crayon is a short, chubby pencil that is supposed to be a brow pomade in crayon form. There are obviously drawbacks to this design- while it's a cool concept, frankly, the thing is huge. Maybelline definitely should have gone with something a lot less thick. I got the shade Dark Brown, I believe. As you can see, while the product is sharp now, it doesn't take much to run it down and I fear for the day this becomes too nubby to use (I've been using it on an angle so far). The formula, however, is pretty gorgeous. It's soft and emollient, but amazingly pigmented. It gives a soft effect rather than a harsh line. Here are my brows with no product in them. May Favourites 2016!

May went by so slowly for me, but it was a month of excitement for sure! Eurovision happened and I got a job! Let's see what I loved through this month. A lot of oldies in here! First I've got some Makeup Geek shadows to talk about, and for once, I'm not waxing poetic about their Foiled eyeshadows. Makeup Geek's matte shadows in Chickadee (left) and Cocoa Bear (right) are deserving of all the hype they get. They pair together perfectly to create a warm crease. I'd never actually owned a warm medium brown eyeshadow before this, and let me just say- where have I been?! I've been wearing them all month and the only complaint I have is that now I'm in a bit of an eyeshadow rut because I don't want to wear anything else! Here's them both in my crease with Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadow in Center Stage on the lid. Products I've Hit Pan On!

Whenever I look back on my instagram to see which posts were the most popular, it's always the posts featuring products I've #hitpan on. The panning community in general is awesome, so I figured I'd do a post showing all the products in my collection that currently have some pan going on! And I'm sure I'll have another post like this soon, because I have so many products, particularly eyeshadows, that are soooo close to hitting pan. Anyways- let's get into the good stuff! First up is this Too Faced Jingle All the Way "phone palette" that I've had for ages. It was my first foray into high-end eyeshadow- picked up for a measly 15 bucks when I went on vacation to Washington, D.C. I believe it was part of a holiday collection, and I grabbed it out of the sale bin the following spring.
