Quickie Review: NARS Orgasm Blush

Image
NARS Orgasm is the most famous blush in the world. It apparently works for every skin tone, ever, to make you look like a goddess or at least like you just got lucky. It’s a peachy-pink with gold glitter. This won’t be a long review, because I don’t want to be redundant. Here’s my take on Orgasm: The product itself is very finely-milled. at first I thought it would be ridiculous, because who the fuck blushes glitter?    It’s not something I would have bought for myself. I got it in a set for christmas that I intended to split between my siblings and mom. I chose this out of the pack for myself. However, it worked its magic when put on my face. As an asexual, it’s nice to know that I can fake getting laid with two sweeps of a brush.  If you want a foolproof grown-up but still fun blush, go for this. If you’re already a blush junkie like me, however, I think you could go without it. I don’t find myself reaching for this often, because I often go for bolder blushes. Once I

The Brow Tag

Image
My eyebrows were the first makeup I learned how to do and honestly I think it’s what makes me look the most different. I can’t go out without doing my brows. So here’s how I do them!   Here’s my naked brow in all of its glory.   Here are the products I use- a spoolie, a brown kohl pencil, ardell brow powder, an angled eyeliner brush, and a GOSH tinted brow gel.  First I brush my brows into place with the spoolie.  Then, I outline the general shape I want with the kohl.   Next, I fill them in with the powder and brush.   Finally, I use the gel to make sure they stay in place!   Here is what I look like with only one brow done. See the difference it makes?

Review: bareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Speak Your Mind

Image
Aww, lookit this thing. It’s so little. I got it as a 100-point perk redemption on Sephora back in March of last year and I’ve been neglecting it lately. I found it rolling around in the bottom of my vanity and decided to review it and give it some love!   Speak Your Mind is a bubblegum pink with a rosy undertone. It smells, applies and feels just like MAC lipstick (a light distinctive vanilla scent, opaque, nice and smooth), but wears just a bit more comfortably. I like it better than MAC! Speak Your Mind is a rather reserved colour, and the only thing MAC has over this line from bareMinerals is their shade range. There are only a few colourful shades in this line.  However, if I got the chance, I wouldn’t say no to picking up a full size of this lipstick in a different colour! For now, I’ll be working on this deluxe sample and hopefully it’ll show up in an empties post in the future.

Review: the Body Shop Colour Crush lipsticks in Candy Cuddle and Let's Grape it On

Image
Buyer’s remorse is a real thing, people. It’s even worse when you think something is going to be amazing and then you’re let down big time.  That’s what happened to me with these babies. Don’t the tubes look sleek? Isn’t the one on the right such a unique-looking shade?   They’re really hard and sheer in swatches. Let’s Grape it On is a mauve purple with a ton of gritty gold glitter. Candy Cuddle is a basic pink, the colour of dubble bubble. Not too offensive. My problem is how they wear.   Let’s Grape it On (seriously, what the fuck does that even mean?) looks okay but feels super gritty on the lips. I end up with chunks of glitter stuck in my teeth, somehow. Plus, the bullet is so hard I have to pass over my lips multiple times for the colour to show, which makes me feel like I’m using a lip scrub made of glitter. Then this shit disappears or goes patchy as hell in, like, an hour. Candy Cuddle should be better because it’s not glittery, right? Wrong! It has the same

Review: essence Dark Romance Velvet Mousse Blush

Image
I know it’s mean of me to post about limited-edition releases that have since passed, but I’m still flexing my review muscles and this product is just so fascinating I had to show it off. It’s a mousse blush… and I have multiple mousse blushes. But this one is very different.   Check out that texture! And the case is beautiful, too. Did I mention the colour? Oh my god. It’s a totally unapologetic cherry red.   The top swatch isn’t a skin condition, it’s what the blush looks like when I tap a finger on top of it and lightly press my finger on my skin. Below is the blended-out swatch. It’s so pretty. This is a light application; I can build it up to clown cheeks if I want.  I just love essence a lot, okay?! Their limited edition blushes are the best. If there were one product I wish I had bought two of, it would be this one.
