Spring 2018 Makeup Favourites!

Image
I'm back with a roundup of some products I've been loving this season! Lately my makeup has been one of two things- ethereal, shimmery, and over-the-top, or grungy, boyish, and minimal. Read on for a rundown of what I haven't been able to put down lately, plus a look using all of the products! Let’s start off with a palette I’ve been loving for a few months! While upon first glance, the Too Faced Life’s A Festival palette looks like it would appeal to a rather small subset of makeup-wearers, I would beg to differ. A lot of critics of this palette cite the fact that there are very few matte shades to “complete” a look with, rendering the palette useless in their eyes. I would think quite the opposite. The one matte transition shade, Desert Vibes, works beautifully as a transition for any of the shimmers and duochromes in this palette, thus eliminating the need for multiple matte shades. I think that Too Faced did something unexpectedly brilliant with thi...

31 Beauty Favourites of 2015: Day 11- Mascara

Image
Well, my really late Day 11 for my Beauty Favourites of 2015 is mascara. I fell off the bandwagon with holiday and finals panicking, but I think I'm back! I'm gonna keep this one short and sweet because frankly, this isn't my favourite mascara anymore. I've found something better, but the fact remains that this was still my favourite mascara of 2015: Benefit's They're Real! Mascara. It was good, it was bold, it coated the lashes and provided just the right amount of length! The only problem with this mascara is that it's a b to get off. Regardless, it does look amazing on the lashes and didn't smudge. Here's how it looks on my face! Benefit's They're Real was what I wore on my lashes for a good 7 months out of this year, so of course it qualifies as my favourite for this year. However, stay tuned for my new favourite mascara in my December favourites!

31 Beauty Favourites of 2015: Day 10- Eyeliner

Today's pick for 31 Days of Beauty is eyeliner- and this was a contentious one for me. I really, really wanted to pick Marc Jacobs' Highliner in Blacquer, because I've loved it longer, but my love for the liner I chose burns hot. That eyeliner is the Benefit They're Real Push Up Liner. This liner is perfection for me, while I agree that it's not for everyone. I don't use liquid liner, or even most gels, because they take too long to set and inevitably smudge on my hooded eyes before drying, or transfer throughout the day. The Benefit's They're Real Push Up Liner is a matte black gel liner that sets immediately. The slanted tip that deposits the gel is perfect for creating a no-fuss wing, even for a winged-liner amateur like me. Here it is in action! It really does hug the lashes, I've never seen a liner do this before. This liner also doesn't transfer throughout the day- another reason why I love it. I feel like this wil...

My Top 5 Beauty Wishlist: Benefit Cosmetics

Image
Hey guys! I missed doing my Top 10 Beauty Wishlists, and I decided I was going to do something different. I'm going to be doing brand wishlists in either 5 or 10 slots, depending on how much I want from the brand. Today's is going to be a brand I'm oddly not that interested in, Benefit Cosmetics. Here we go! 1. They're Real! Mascara in Beyond Blue I love the formulation of They're Real!, I love blue mascara, and this has looked amazing and vibrant in every picture and swatch I've seen. I don't love the price tag- but I have a Shoppers Drugmart gift card so this might just be my next purchase. 2. They're Real! Push-Up Liner I've wanted this for a while- I really liked the sample size that I got and think the concept is interesting. This is something I can see myself using. 3. Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in Medium/Deep It's Gimme Brow. C'mon, who doesn't want this stuff? It's ridiculously small and expensive, howe...

Review: Benefit They're Real! Mascara

Image
Don't look at me like that. I know that nearly every beauty blogger in this hemisphere and beyond has tried this mascara. But dang it, it's a dividing factor for lots of people- you either love this mascara and think it's the greatest thing to happen to your lashes since they grew themselves out of your eyelids, or abhor it and get nauseous at its mention. I have here a deluxe sample of They're Real! that I will be giving you my first impressions of. It came with the sephora superstars christmas set, but landing this sample is just about the easiest thing in the world if you're subscribed to any beauty box or have even the foggiest clue of what a GWP is. Hell, walk into a Sephora, flash your Beauty Insider card and straight up ask for one. They'll probably have multiple samples of this cult-favourite mascara hanging around and will just give you one for free. Alright, let's get down to business. My first taste of Benefit cosmetics... arguably their mos...
