The Makeup Monologues

For 2015, I chose an array of products- makeup and skincare- that I would try and use up throughout the year. For the first half of the year I worked at them diligently, but as my makeup collection expanded I sort of fell off the bandwagon. I don't have pictures of everything in its current state, so I've taken the starting pictures and labeled them. Blue X= finished. Green X= given away/tossed. So first, the makeup. Ardell Brow Powder: Finished the top and middle shades. Had no use for the bottom one, so I threw it out. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder: Finished early in the year. As with most tags that I do on this blog, no one specifically tagged me. I saw this on another blog and decided to go for it! Here's the Lipstick Tag! 1. How many lipsticks do you own? 42! I couldn't find two to get them in the picture. I've really downsized my collection lately. 2. What is the first lipstick that you owned? That depends on your definition of lipstick. Burt's Bees' lip shimmer in Raisin was the first coloured lip product I ever owned, I've had it for something like 11 years (I should probably throw it out). The first actual lipstick that I picked out and purchased for myself was Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Icy Violet, about three years ago. 3. What is your favourite lipstick brand? A few weeks ago, I would have said Revlon. But I have three different formulations of KVD lipstick found at Marshall's and every single one knocks it out of the park. If you saw my previous Project Finish-It Post, you know I'm trying to use up some things, both skincare and makeup! Here's the progress I've made so far! I'll start with the ones I made the biggest dent in first. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Cream Start: 65% remaining Now: 45% remaining Wow, look at that! Before, there was only the teeniest bit of pan showing and now- wham! I'm really proud of myself on this one- though only slightly, because I don't have another tinted face powder to use after this is gone... Bath and Body Works travel sized body lotion in French Lavender and Honey Start: 90% remaining Now: 55% remaining I have been using this nearly every day without fail on my arms, legs and feet. I've grown used to the scent so I don't dislike it as much now, but I really want to start using my Lemon Vanilla lotion, so I'm determined to use this up quickly. There are some cosmetics you just can't get enough of, or like to collect. I'm a collector... and here's some of my collection, the makeup items I own four or more of at the same time, not including backups! LIP PRODUCTS 1. LA Girl Glazed Lip Paints- 4 shades L-R: Tease, Pin-Up, Seduce and Coy I actually picked these up all at the same time at Marshalls, as they don't normally sell L.A. Girl where I live. I'm in love with these lip paints and hope I get the chance to collect more! Favourite : Seduce 2. Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers- 5 shades, 4 pictured Top to Bottom: Cocoa, Raisin, Raisin and Caramel These are all different incarnations of the same product. My first was the beat-up looking Raisin, which is incidentally the first pigmented lip product I ever owned. It's time for the second installation of a blush a day! I managed to weed out one last week, the Flower chubby stick. Here are this week's picks! Thursday- ELF essential shimmering facial whip in Persimmon. Friday- essence limited edition Beauty Beats blush in Groupie at Heart. Saturday- essence silky touch blush in adorable. Sunday- MAC blush in Cubic. Monday- Milani baked blush in Bella Rosa. Tuesday- Essence dark romance velvet mousse blush. Wednesday- essence silky touch blush in life's a cherry. Let's see who gets weeded out this time!

I wasn't tagged by anyone but saw this and thought it would be fun to do. How many blushes do you own? And the grand total is... 24! But who cares... no big deal, I want mooore.... What is your favourite blush brush? This Quo one... it's very densely packed. For cream blush, I just use my fingers! Cream or powder? Cream! Peach vs Pink and favourites of each? Pink! My favourite pink blush is The Body Shop All-in-One cheek colour in Bubblegum, and my favourite peach blush is Joe Fresh Mousse Blush in Melon. I don't really like peach blush, though.
