Keeping on the theme of cozy comforts, someone suggested I do a bath/relaxation post. Unfortunately, since I moved into my dorm, I can't do what I used to to relax and be cozy. When I lived at home, I would light a candle and treat myself to a nice long soak. Candles are not allowed in my residence and I have a stand-up shower. Not to worry though- I've found alternative ways to get my cozy on! Here are the top products I use to pamper. My Bath & Body Works shower gel in Mahogany Teakwood. I break this out when I want to feel warm and woodsy. It's an alternative to my usual fruity shower soaps. It smells like a cologne, and it imparts a very warm, relaxed feeling as I lather it over my skin. If I'm not feeling the strong heady scents so much, I use my Little Luxuries Soapworks whipped soap in Vanilla. It's creamy, light and the vanilla scent makes me feel very soft and cozy. Today I'm sharing with you a luxe favourite of mine- Basin White brand Body Butter in Oatmeal Honey. It's definitely a cozy comfort of mine. Whenever I'm feeling down, I rub myself up with this and it makes me feel that much better. The scent is incredible- sweet, but not cloying. It smells like a honey buttercream with a bit of caramelized sweetness. Definitely good enough to eat! The scent lasts for a long time, too- up to 6 hours on me if I'm not moving around that much. I always get compliments on how I smell when I'm wearing this. It's truly a body butter- emphasis on the butter. It's very thick and you have to warm it up with your finger to get it on your skin.  It's truly a rich, indulgent product. It sinks into my skin pretty well after a few moments- no complaints about being greasy here. It leaves my skin feeling soft and supple. This month's theme for the CBB is "Cozy Comforts." I'll be honest, I didn't know what the heck I was supposed to do with that theme when I first saw it. An eye look inspired by tomato soup...? However, I brainstormed a bunch of random things, and I'm gonna run with 'em. Hopefully they connect enough to the theme that the mods don't kick me out of the linkup. When I think of "cozy" eye looks, I think of peach, rose gold, and copper- but two shadows came to mind specifically. Those shadows are both by Colourpop cosmetics- two of their Super Shock Shadows (a measly $5 USD each), in the shades I <3 This and Game Face. They scream cozy and warm, yet still intense, which is what I like. I <3 This is a champagne with a pink sheen and silver glitter. It's a little gritty but gorgeous nonetheless. Keeping with the CBB's September Plum theme, I had a serious brainstorming session to come up with plum-related posts. Eventually I settled on detailing three different ways on how to wear plum eyeshadow! Let's get going. #1: As a Sheer Wash of Colour Plum shadow is surprisingly sophisticated when used as your only eyeshadow, especially as a sheer wash of colour. For this look, you're going to want to take a fluffy brush and a warm, pinky plum shadow with some shimmer to it. I chose this shade from the Wet N Wild Silver Lake Thrift Store Chic palette. Dip your fluffy shadow brush gently in the shadow, then begin patting it on your lid. Keep going to just above your crease and around the outer corner. Make sure you have any dark circles covered, and make sure your brows are well-groomed but not too bold. This will make your eyes stand out, without being too distracting. Plum is a favourite of everyone's when it comes to a fall lip. Not necessarily so for me, though- I prefer to break out my reds. Regardless, I can still appreciate a good plum lipstick now and again. Here are some of my top picks for evoking that autumnal, plum feel. L-R: Revlon Plum Velour, Too Faced Melted Fig, MAC So Be, Wet N Wild Sugar Plum Fairy. The CBB's theme for the month of September is Plum, so I've prepared a few plummy posts just in time for the month to end (whoops)! The first are these nails. I'll have to admit, they're not extremely plummy, but I felt like experimenting with neutrals and rich tones. I used Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Greige, and Zoya Margot for my plum(ish) accent nail. Then I applied this Revlon Iridescent top coat to the nails painted with Greige. It has little purple iridescent shimmers in a pearly glaze. I finished the whole thing off with the Pro-FX Quick Dry High Gloss Top Coat. How did it turn out? I'd say pretty well! Not the most thought-out colour pairing, but I like the way the iridescent topcoat looks over Greige. Shiiiiny. Well? What do you think? What's your favourite plum nail polish?
