Lipstick Stash & Swatch: Pinks Part I

Image
Well, I survived the oranges/corals, and I've been plugging on in my lip swatching. Today I have for you the first part of my pinks! This segment is mostly my lighter/brighter pink lipsticks and liners. L-R: MAC Viva Glam Nicki Minaj, Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Rose-Bud, NYX Butter Lipstick in Little Susie, Wet n Wild Megalast Lipstick in Mauve Outta Here, OCC Lip Tar in Digitalis, elf studio line Moisturizing Lipstick in Flirty & Fabulous, MAC Lip Liner in Cranberry. Bottom: essence lip liner in Satin Mauve. Swatches! And now witness as I slather these on my lips. Viva Glam Nicki Minaj is like, seriously unflattering on me. I bought it because of my love for mama Nicki. It's a baby-ish pink with an orangey undertone and a very thick consistency. Rose-Bud, on the other hand, is flattering as hell. It's a warm rosy medium pink! Little Susie is a buttery candy pink, a couple shades lighter than a hot pink. Mauve Outta He...

Indie Brand Spotlight: Little Luxuries Soapworks!

Image
Today I'm spotlighting and showing you my stash of one of my favourite Canadian indie bath brands, LiLux Soapworks. They are based out of Nova Scotia and you can purchase their goods off of etsy. All of these products were purchased on my own. Behold, the hoard. Some bath bombs- I got five, but one has been used and one is a gift. Cocoa butter bath melts- these are pure heaven for the skin. Soap! I'm honestly not a big fan of glycerin soap but these are so cute. The whipped soap. /This stuff/, you guys. A full review is coming soon. Jelly soap! What an interesting concept. Their little sugar cube scrubs- pure genius. Anyway, I suggest you check these guys out! They're inexpensive, good quality, inventive and Canadian. They also have a feature where you can purchase a certain dollar amount's worth of overstock, discontinues, and seconds, which is what I did.  I'll be reviewing the products I bought as described, how...

Here's a quickie post since I've been neglecting this blog as of late. Everyone loves a good highlighter, so I'm gonna swatch mine for you! Here they are, in all their gleamy glory. Snoop my Stash: Haircare

Image
As you can probably see from this blog, I am not a lady who cares much about her hair. My sister's hair is gorgeous, long and always impeccably styled, but I'm just not about that. As long as it's reasonably combed I'm good. That being said, here are the hair products I've accumulated over the past year or so, mostly as gifts! I keep them in this little basket. L'oreal Professional tecni.art A-head glue: Okay,  I'll be truthful- I do love this stuff. It is basically glue for your hair, as the name implies. I use it mostly for cosplay. Oscar Blandi Dry Sculpting Pomade: I found this for a bargain at Winners the day after I chopped off all my hair. Then, I loved it, but it's not very effective for hair as heavy as mine, and I don't like the strong perfumey fragrance. Tresemme Fresh Start Dry Shampoo: The cheapest dry shampoo out there and the bane of beauty bloggers everywhere; why do I still have this? Dove Style+Care Styling Gel: Trut...

Monthly Favourites: February 2015

Image
I realize this is a bit early as it's only the 23rd. However, I doubt I'll irrevocably fall in love with something in the next five days! Anyway, I have a huge makeup collection so I never tend to wear one product twice in a row unless I'm trying to pan it- but here are the products I've been veering towards this past month, along with a couple of extras! MAKEUP Maybelline MasterConceal by Facestudio Camouflaging Concealer in shade 10 Fair (Review) I finally found it, a concealer that's perfect for me! I have an irrational compulsion to hoard some more tubes in case the whole "Master" line by Maybelline goes flop, but have to keep reminding myself that it would go bad anyway! Too Faced Jingle All the Way Phone Palette (Review) This is an item I'm using for project pan, and in being forced to spend time with it, I've come to love it all over again. I look forward to using it tons in upcoming months! GOSH Defining Eyebrow Gel in 0...

The Lipstick Tag

Image
As with most tags that I do on this blog, no one specifically tagged me. I saw this on another blog and decided to go for it! Here's the Lipstick Tag! 1. How many lipsticks do you own? 42! I couldn't find two to get them in the picture. I've really downsized my collection lately. 2. What is the first lipstick that you owned? That depends on your definition of lipstick. Burt's Bees' lip shimmer in Raisin was the first coloured lip product I ever owned, I've had it for something like 11 years (I should probably throw it out). The first actual lipstick that I picked out and purchased for myself was Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Icy Violet, about three years ago. 3. What is your favourite lipstick brand? A few weeks ago, I would have said Revlon. But I have three different formulations of KVD lipstick found at Marshall's and every single one knocks it out of the park. I have yet to try her studded kiss lipsticks- I'm almost af...

This week's prompt from Our Beauty Talk network is " Show us your stash of eyeliners!"  Our Beauty Talk is an online forum community where we talk about subscription boxes, beauty, skincare and more! The link is in my sidebar- anyone can join, and I recommend you do! Here's my eyeliner stash! I keep all of the pencil eyeliners in this dual brush/liner holder that my baby sister made me. It's so cute and has a chalkboard on the front so I can write what I want to focus on that week! Here's all of my liners- oops, a lip liner snuck its way in there too. I've arranged them by brand and colour counts! Revlon= 5 Laura Mercier= 2 Sephora Collection= 4 GOSH= 4 Annabelle= 2 Essence= 8 Rimmel= 4 Urban Decay= 2 Stila= 2 Now by colour!
