Review: Flower Cosmetics Color Play Crème Eyeshadow in Awesome Blossom

Image
Though my experiences with Flower Beauty have all been relatively positive, I never think to pick any of their products up because the price stops me. However, when I saw a review of the Color Play Crème Eyeshadow the other day, I knew I had to have it and picked up the shade Awesome Blossom that very afternoon. It comes in a small square container with slightly rounded sides, similar to L'oreal's Infallible eyeshadows were it not for the white square top. The packaging is entirely plastic and lightweight. The product sits in a circular well and comes with a little presser tab just like the Infallible eyeshadows. However, that's where the similarities end. I actually thought it was a bit odd that a cream shadow would have a presser tab, but I supposed it's to keep the cap from getting messy. It can also be used as a spatula if you don't like sticking your fingers into your products. When you remove the tab, there's a glob of wet cream shado...

Review: Flower Cosmetics Sheer Up Lip Tint in Dewy Rose

Image
My friend was generous enough to get me this for Christmas, and I'm just reviewing it now! Here is Flower Cosmetics' Sheer Up Lip Tint in Dewy Rose. It's a chubby lip pencil that's nearly identical in size and shape to the Revlon Balm sticks, but the packaging is a bit less substantial. The logo is cute, though, printed in gold and evoking all sorts of 1920's flair. Though the product is called Sheer Up, there's nothing sheer about it. Dewy Rose is a bold candy red. It's slightly waxy, hard and draggy in consistency but not in a bad way- in a way that makes it last a lot longer than your average chubby lip pencil. It's got a bit of a shiny finish and the pigmentation of a lipstick. It's fun and cute. I don't know if I'd pay full price for it (more expensive than Revlon's) but if you see this on sale then go ahead and pick one up! It's easy to apply and lasts for hours! Nice job, Drew Barrymore! You'v...

Review: Flower Cosmetics Glisten Up! Highlighter Chubby in Pearl Shimmer

Image
TheBalm's Mary Lou Manizer is my HG highlighter, but that doesn't mean I didn't experiment back in the day. My previous favourite highlighter was Flower Cosmetics Glisten Up! Highlighter Chubby in Pearl Shimmer. Isn't it stunning? This is the first product I ever tried from Flower. I was intrigued by the concept of a highlighter at the drugstore, especially a cream one! I've heavily swatched it on my wrist here. It's a champagne shimmer that looks warm toned, but is surprisingly cool-neutral.  On the face, it's very sheer. You can't really see where you've applied it until your face hits the light the right way, then, whoa, shimma. You have to make sure to blend this sucker out even if it looks natural enough to you.  With a bit of trial and error, it adds a nice flattering glow to the face without sinking into pores or clinging to hairs. I feel like this is a good highlighter for people who have heard about the craze and want to try it out...
