Review: GOSH Trio Eyeshadow in Tropic Fever

Image
Remember when I reviewed the GOSH eyeshadow trio in Limelight and wished it had been a bit brighter? Well, meet Limelight's bolder sister, Tropic Fever. It contains three shadows that are on the powdery side, all shimmery and nicely pigmented. Shadow 1 is a bright shimmery banana yellow. Shadow 2 is a shimmering cerulean. Shadow 3 is an acid green. These shadows go beautifully together- the only problem I've encountered is that when you blend Shadow 2 into Shadow 1, it turns green!  In all of these pictures I'm wearing all three shadows. In this look, the blue blended right into the yellow to create a green. In this look I lined my top and bottom lashlines with the blue shade. Here I tried to do a spotlight-effect with the yellow.  These shadows fade after five hours without a white base, and ten with. I use the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk.  If you can find this trio, pick it up! It's gorgeous and has become on...

Review: GOSH trio eyeshadow in Limelight

Image
GOSH is a brand that holds a special place in my heart. I wore them exclusively for most of the tenth grade, due to buying a bunch in Canterbury on my school trip to England. They evoke fond memories. Naturally, I buy GOSH whenever I get the chance. Today I'm reviewing their Trio Eyeshadow in Limelight. It's housed in a plastic compact, fairly simple.  There's a divider in the middle, but it's not raised any higher than the eyeshadows so it's kinda just for show. The consistency of the shadow is very powdery. (Direct sunlight) (Indirect natural light) Going clockwise from the top left- Shadow 1 is a light yellow-green satin, the colour of grasshopper pie (oh man, now I want some grasshopper pie.) Shadow 2 is a denim blue shimmer. It takes a bit of building to get it to look true to colour on the eyelids and it produces quite a bit of fallout. Shadow 3 is a light straw yellow with golden shimmer. Here they are all slapped...

Review: GOSH Defining Brow Gel in 003

Image
You can do so many things with your brows- there are powders, mousses, waxes, mascaras and gels to tint them, fill in gaps and hold the hairs in place. Around the start of the new year I decided to try a tinted brow gel, and chose GOSH's Defining Brow Gel in 003. 003 is a translucent, very wet dark brown gel. Its consistency is kind of slippery. It's nothing like Benefit's Gimme Brow- it doesn't coat the hairs in colour so much as the colour sits on top. It has a traditional mascara-y type wand. It keeps my brow hairs in place, and I use it in a pinch (like on the weekends when I have to run out the door) but I find it can't be used on its own. I have to mash the brush onto my face to get any sort of colour, and it doesn't do anything to fill in my gaps. So, I usually use this on top of my brow powder. This product is kind of a fail for me, because it didn't do what I wanted it to do- colour and save me a step in my routine. Instead, it's just...
