Exclusively Canadian FOTD!

Image
When it comes to Canadian cosmetics, I can be a bit spoiled for choice. Compared to my makeup collection at whole, I guess it doesn't look like much, but it's not much to shake a stick at! I wanted to do a makeup look using only Canadian makeup and realized that while I have lots of Canadian lipstick and blush, I lack Canadian incarnations of eyebrow products, concealer, eyeshadow primer, everyday staples like that. I actually had to run out to the store earlier today upon realizing I didn't have any foundation, powder or concealer that was Canadian- I settled on a loose powder by Joe Fresh then ran back home to do this post. Here's all the stuff I chose to smack on my face! ... Set against the beautiful background of a majorly outdated Toronto skyline. For my lips, I went with Bite Beauty, eliminating all of my Marcelle products. Sorry, Marcelle. I chose the lip primer, Luminous Creme lipstick in Violet, and lip gloss in Nine from the Watercolou...

April 2015 Favourites!

Image
Ugh, hey guys, it may as well be halfway through May and here I am posting my April favourites. What happened is that I wrote this entire post and then tried to add a few extra pictures, and then Blogger froze up. I lost the whole post and then my inspiration/motivation to get it done went poot. But here are the things I've loved this past month. There are a lot of surprising ones, even for me. NYC?! Black eyeliner?! Skincare?! I feel like I almost don't know who I am anymore. Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick in Cleopatra First is a sleeper hit for me. I picked this up because Marcelle was March's brand of the month for the CBB. I ended up loving this plum/raspberry colour, and since Marcelle prides themselves in making hypoallergenic cosmetics, there's no fragrance or scent to this lipstick, which is a huge deal-maker for me. Plus the history-related name made it hard to resist. I love this lipstick and must have worn it a quarter of the month, at least....

Review: Marcelle Rouge Xpression Lipstick in Cleopatra

I'm a little late to the party, but the CBB's brand of the month for April is Marcelle! I realized that I'd never even tried the brand before (I always thought the price point was a bit high for drugstore) but in the name of supporting a Canadian brand, I bit the bullet and picked up three of their Rouge Xpression lipsticks. Today I'll be reviewing Cleopatra. Those who know me know that any makeup product name to do with history or geography is something I can't resist (I also picked up Paris Rose!) The tube itself is thin plastic... it actually seems rather flimsy. The design is traditional, but in less of a classy way and more of an old-lady way. However, the product inside is pure gorgeous. Cleopatra is the colour of crushed raspberries. The shade is infinitely flattering. I love it! The texture is light and creamy, and lasts up to 4 hours. It's not drying in the slightest, and fades evenly. Marcelle prides themselves in bei...
