January 2016 Favourites!
Well, the first month of the year came and went incredibly fast for me! I thought I wasn't going to have any favourites this month, but as soon as I looked through my Instagram profile I could definitely tell that there were some products I went back to again and again. Let's get into it, shall we?
So I've got a lotion, a brow product, a blush, a highlighter and two liquid lipsticks. Mostly drugstore this month, wow!
First, the L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper. Wow. I thought my Rimmel one was good, and I was so, so wrong. That one never actually held anything in place. This L'Oreal one did set me back 15 dollars, but it is AMAZING. It tints and plumps the brows with little fibers, and the wand is teeny tiny so you're not smearing brown gel all over yourself. But what really impresses me about this product is how my brows refuse to budge after it sets. It's like they're being held in place by industrial amounts of hairspray. And this doesn't fade or go weird throughout the day. Total win!
The Nivea Soft moisturizer was a bit of a surprise for me. I picked it up for a couple of bucks on a whim, tried it out, wasn't in love and tossed it into the moisturizer-purgatory drawer. However, somehow, this month I realized that this cream is the perfect consistency to mix into my foundation to create my own tinted moisturizer, for days where I'm dry, don't feel like packing on the silicon primer or just don't need to fuss with too much coverage. I'm so glad I found a use for this product after all!
I had a love affair with Becca's Pressed Shimmering Skin Perfector in the shade Moonstone, despite claiming I wouldn't fall for the hype. It's just so flattering, I reached for it all month long. This babe is intense, though, so sometimes it actually makes my camera go out of focus with how bright it is....
The H&M Pure Radiance Powder Blusher in Tawny Peach came in a set, and it wasn't a colour I would have picked for myself at all. However, the formula is just so soft and smooth, and it's a truly unique shade in my collection that adds a nice amount of soft, sophisticated warmth to any look without being distracting. This blush is foolproof!
I tried many drugstore liquid lipsticks this month and these are the two I loved, though for very different reasons. First, the Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in the shade Crush- let me just take a moment. This is not only my new favourite drugstore liquid lipstick, but my favourite liquid lipstick formula of all time- and I have both Kat Von D and Jeffree Star lipsticks. The name on this one is very misleading- it's not a lip cream at all. It's very runny and liquidy when you apply it, and smells faintly of vanilla. It applies incredibly crisply and you can layer it as much as you want. It dries down in a matter of a minute and then it feels like you're wearing nothing. No transfer whatsoever, no stickiness or tackiness, it's completely bone-dry. That's the kind of liquid lipstick I love. The shade is a vampy dark red-brown that makes me feel like I can take on the whole world.
The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour in Seduction, however, is a totally different ball game. This applies as a highly pigmented, non-sticky, creamy gloss, and dries down after about an hour to a satin finish. And then it stays put. This sucker does not budge through eating, drinking, whatever. I've worn it for 7 hours with only minimal, barely noticeable fading. I'm incredibly impressed with this. It smells like vanilla whipped cream and the shade, a pinky nude, is gorgeous for throwing over a lip liner.
Here's swatches of all of the products. From left to right: Becca Moonstone, H&M Tawny Peach, Milani Crush, Revlon HD Seduction.

That is hilarious that your camera could hardly focus with Moonstone! Love your favourites, and I'm so excited to hear how much you love the Milani lip cream thingy! I think I'll have to track one down to try...
