May Favourites 2016!

May went by so slowly for me, but it was a month of excitement for sure! Eurovision happened and I got a job! Let's see what I loved through this month. A lot of oldies in here!

First I've got some Makeup Geek shadows to talk about, and for once, I'm not waxing poetic about their Foiled eyeshadows. Makeup Geek's matte shadows in Chickadee (left) and Cocoa Bear (right) are deserving of all the hype they get. They pair together perfectly to create a warm crease. I'd never actually owned a warm medium brown eyeshadow before this, and let me just say- where have I been?! I've been wearing them all month and the only complaint I have is that now I'm in a bit of an eyeshadow rut because I don't want to wear anything else! Here's them both in my crease with Makeup Geek Foiled eyeshadow in Center Stage on the lid.

Every few months or so I fall back in love with my Urban Decay Electric Palette- however, it's usually the shimmers I love. This month, I've been loving the shades in the palette that I'd barely ever touched before- Savage (matte magenta), Slowburn (matte orange-red with silver microglitter), Gonzo (matte blue-turquoise with silver microglitter), and Chaos (matte royal blue). Here's a look I created with Savage and Slowburn on the lid with Makeup Geek Flamethrower, and Chaos on the lower lashline.

The Bite Beauty Luminous Creme lipstick formula may be discontinued but it is not forgotten! It remains my favourite lipstick formula ever created, and the reason I loved them more than usual this month is that these suckers LAST. I just started a new job with 8-hour shifts of housekeeping, cooking and serving. These lipsticks last through the copious amounts of tea, water and coffee I drink on shift. They don't budge or fade at all through my two-hour serving period, to the point where one of my coworkers demanded to know what lipstick I was wearing and how it was still on. I don't wear any other lipstick formula when I go to work.

And when I go to work, I obviously need the rest of my makeup to last as well. The main player that's been helping with that is my Wet N Wild Photofocus Setting Spray. I bought this a few months ago and since I never really left my dorm at all, I didn't need it. But I've been using it now and it does a great job of setting and prolonging my makeup! I'm most impressed with the fact that it stops my concealer from "drying up" and cracking on dry patches/blemishes throughout the day.

Now that winter is finally over, I've been especially concerned about sun care on my face. I wish I could tell you it's because I'm a health nut, but really, it's a combination of hating my freckles (they're grey. not cute) and not wanting to get a tan because then I'd have to buy a new foundation shade and mama does NOT have money for that right now. So I've been using the Neutrogena Clear Face SPF 60 sunscreen. It's affordable, a high SPF (I'm not outside a ton or else I'd prefer SPF 75- but this is fine for just my half hour walk to work each way)  and it hasn't broken me out from what I can tell. But the best thing about it is that it dries very nicely. It doesn't stay sticky or lotion-y and doesn't inhibit makeup application/wear in any way.

If you know me on facebook, you'll know that I fell HARD for DAVIDsTEA this month. Here's two teas that I fell in love with this month!

Serenity Now (that name is perfection, first off) is a gorgeous mix of strawberry, lavender and mint. It's not weak by any means and is great hot or cold. It's my new favourite tea of all time, and I have something like 25 blends in my collection. It's just so yummy and perfect at any time of day!

Sunny Citrus is discontinued but was generously gifted to me by my new tea friend Ashley! I think it's meant to be an iced tea, but I prefer this tea hot by a mile. It's a luscious citrus tea that tastes like blood oranges. I get a hint of vanilla in there too. Time to track down more of this on the DT swap group, because I've been addicted to this all month and I'm running out!

That's everything I've been loving this month! Did you develop an unexpected obsession like my one for tea this month?
