BLOG REVIVAL! Project Pan 2018: Starting Small

Hello Internet! A lot of things have happened in my life since I last posted, but I won’t get into them here.
I’m back to say that I’m reviving this blog, mostly for my own purposes, but because I also have a few
projects in mind! Namely I’ll be doing a rotating Project Pan this year, so this is my first official post
back!

I decided to do a Project Pan because I am starting to get overwhelmed by the amount of stuff that I
have. For some reason or another, decluttering alone hasn’t seemed to work- probably the fact that
I still have the urge to hold onto a product if I like it, even if I don’t use it. In this Project Pan,
I’m focusing on using up mostly deluxe-sized skincare to get through my skincare backlog,
and drugstore makeup that I already know that I love, but don’t get enough use out of.

MILK Makeup Natural Dry Shampoo: I have very short hair and I shower daily, sometimes twice daily, so I don’t know if I’ll
go through this too often. But I’m throwing it in here because it’s a good dry shampoo that I don’t
plan on repurchasing (partly because of the cost and shipping) that will just sit around if I don’t
make an effort to remember to use it. It’s a travel-sized can, and I’ve been doing a lot of couch-surfing
lately, so I’ll just see how much gets used!

Origins Ginzing Energy-Boosting Gel Moisturizer: This is a good standby, slightly “boring” daytime moisturizer, and I have what seems
like ten moisturizers that are exactly that. So it won’t be hard to use this DS up if I remind myself to
use it every day. What I do like is that it’s fairly inoffensive to my skin so I tend to use this, and only
this, on my face if another product has broken me out and I just don’t know which one.

GLAMGLOW Volcasmic Matte Glow Moisturizer: Hot damn. I have a little DS of this from a GWP and I freaking love it. I’m going to see
how long it takes me to get through this tub and then seriously consider purchasing the full size
(I know, so not the point of a Project Pan). It’s thick and balmy but sinks right into the skin and leaves
it feeling so supple. It performs beautifully under makeup and smells great too. I’m so looking forward
to using this!

Boscia Charcoal Makeup Melter Cleansing Balm: I’m almost done with this little guy, I actually keep it in my travel bag so I have a makeup remover for
sleepover trips. I’m expecting maybe a couple more uses out of this one before I’m finished. It is a
really nice product, but I’ve found a makeup remover balm that I like better, so I’m going to use this
one up before it goes rancid from neglect in the back of the cupboard.

Boscia Sake Treatment Water: I have maybe another two or three uses out of this one too. I thought it was empty, but I noticed a bit
left in there, so I’m going to use it up! This functions like a toner, and it doesn’t seem to do much fo
r my skin except lift gunk from it, which is fine.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet: This is a very light moisturizer. It’s honestly not too effective for my face in the wintertime,
so I feel I’ll get more use out of this in the spring and summer months. I have had it for a while,
and it’s the oldest of my light moisturizers, so I want to finish it. I’d say I have about 70% left of the jar.

The Body Shop Drops of Light Pure Healthy Brightening Serum: I do love this serum, but I want to start trying out some other ones after I use this up.
In the meantime, though, I’d say I have maybe half the bottle left (it’s hard to tell), and I want to use
it up. I do find that my skin is less dull when I use this, for the record.

Now onto makeup!

Wet N Wild Photofocus Pressed Powder in Neutral Buff: This is a good powder, and I go through face powder like water. There’s a decent amount of product
in this one, and it has a thin consistency, so I’m more curious to see how long it takes me to pan/finish
than anything- plus, I barely get use out of it, so I’m kicking myself in the butt to use it now!

MAKE UP FOR EVER Step 1 Skin Equalizer Smoothing Primer: The next few items won’t be drugstore, just minis of high end products. This is a decent
primer, but I prefer some other smoothing primers that I have more. I’m going to use this up because

it’s so tiny and really, there’s not much use in having it kicking around nearly empty.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua XL Colour Paint in I-50: This is an itsy bitsy teeny weeny eyeshadow sample I got out of a 500pt Sephora perk.
It’s a light champagne liquid eyeshadow. It’s an interesting product, and while I don’t think
I’d repurchase this or any of the Aqua XL Colour Paints, I really quite enjoy this one. I like to tap this
onto my eyelid until it gets slightly tacky, and sheer it out over the lid, crease and inner corner as a
nice wash of champagne shimmer. It’s not very intense, but it’s good for looking just a bit put-together.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Mist & Fix: This is my less favourite out of the two setting sprays I own at the moment, and I’m going to use it up before I try anything else out. There’s nothing wrong with it, it’s a useful standard setting spray, but I find it doesn’t make a ton of difference in the appearance of my makeup (though it does slightly improve the wear).

Tom Ford Lipstick in Indian Rose (I think): An itty bitty 100pt perk, I don’t love this but it’s super tiny and an easy colour to wear at school.
It needs frequent reapplication so I hope I go through it quickly enough! In my opinion, if you’re
considering getting a Tom Ford lipstick- don’t. There’s nothing special about them to me, they
actually feel like a mix between a chapstick and a Revlon cream finish lipstick.

L’Oreal MagicSmooth Souffle Blush in Cherubic: I’m the worst because I have literally no idea how old this is. However, it’s my only cream blush.
I love the look of cream blush but I have a hard time remembering to use it. If I get even a third of
the way through this (it’s incredibly pigmented and a little goes a long way), I’m chucking it and
rewarding myself with a different cream blush.

Hard Candy Glow All The Way Glamazon Bronze Face & Body Luminizer: This is also old as the hills, and also never-ending because it’s so damn pigmented and I only use it
as a liquid bronzer. It is a gorgeous product, though, but one I barely ever reach for, so I’m putting this
in the Project as a reminder to use it. I don’t really care how much of it I use, so long as I enjoy
wearing it.

Wet N Wild ColorIcon Shadow Single in Brulee: I have enough browbone/base shadows like this to last me ten lifetimes. I’m too lazy to depot this
one, so I’m just going to keep it in my everday basket to set my eye primer. My goal is to hit a decent
amount of pan on this- I don’t know if I’d dream of finishing it up.

I actually have two more items in this project, but I'm a dolt and forgot them at my office over the
weekend. They are the Physician's Formula Butter Bronzer (in the shade Bronzer) and the essence silky touch blush in Autumn Peach. I'll have pictures and thoughts on those two items, as well as my progress on the ones I spoke about here, in next month's update!

That’s it so far for my project pan! I’ll be doing updates every month or so,
or whenever there’s progress! When I finish a product or am satisfied with how much
I’ve used of it, I’ll rotate it out and add something else from my collection in!

On the blog, as well, I’ll also be doing empties posts a few times a year, and hopefully I can get up
some monthly favourites or other roundups as well!

See you soon!

  4. I'm most interested to see how far you get with makeup, I think I've only finished like 2 lipsticks in my entire life. I lose them or chuck them before they get finished! Also, I love the idea of a Tom Ford lippie in a project pan, that's a luxe way of getting through product!
