The Makeup Monologues

Who doesn't love a good gold highlighter? Some may have tons, but I've found two that I love and have stuck to them. Those two highlighters are the Wet N Wild Fergie Collection Shimmer Palette in Hollywood Boulevard, and The Balm's Mary Lou Manizer. Though one is drugstore and one is high-end, I love them the same!  I picked up the Wet N Wild Fergie Collection Shimmer Palette in Hollywood Boulevard over in the USA, for about five US dollars (I believe the Fergie line is actually being discontinued, so get it while you can!). It's gorgeous with a buttery texture, all sheen and no glitter. It feels like a luxury powder! Don't let the pink and brown stripes fool you- this product swatches a beautiful gold. Whenever I look back on my instagram to see which posts were the most popular, it's always the posts featuring products I've #hitpan on. The panning community in general is awesome, so I figured I'd do a post showing all the products in my collection that currently have some pan going on! May went by so slowly for me, but it was a month of excitement for sure! Eurovision happened and I got a job! Let's see what I loved through this month. A lot of oldies in here! First I've got some Makeup Geek shadows to talk about, and for once, I'm not waxing poetic about their Foiled eyeshadows. Some things just sound too good to be true. I stumbled upon the website Glambot while looking for blog sales a while ago. Used makeup doesn't gross me out in the slightest and I hate paying full price for things, but sales on high-end makeup are few and far between. Plus, tracking down LE collections that you missed out on is torture, and you usually end up getting fakes on eBay. So what's Glambot? It's a used makeup sale site. Like a Plato's Closet for makeup. People sell their used makeup to Glambot, and they sanitize it and sell it for a lower price than retail. The website tells you the fill level and condition of the item you're looking at. This month was a busy one- finals, moving back home, and I've been working nights at a barn away from home for the past two weeks. I didn't wear much makeup at all, which makes this favourites post a strange one. I usually have all-makeup favourites posts, but this month, only one item is makeup related! So let's get down and dirty with it. I've even got a hair product in there! This is the OGX Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Mist. I've never been one to fuss with my hair beyond blow-drying it on occasion- I can't even be arsed to buy conditioner. However, I saw this in my mom's cabinet while plugging in the hair dryer and thought, "Oh, why not?" This mist makes my hair feel soooo soft and not greasy at all. It has a very strong, sweet coconut scent that lingers for hours. I personally love that- it makes me feel ethereal and very put together. I just spray this on the ends of my hair before I blow dry it and bam, I'm in the trop...

People seem to really like my Eurovision-inspired looks, so here's another batch! Austria 2016: Loin D'ici by Zoe This is one of my favourite songs from this year's selection, which has a lot to do with the aesthetic that both the song and the video evoke. It reminds me of fairy princesses! For this look, I used mostly my Urban Decay Electric palette- Savage and Jilted in the crease, Urban on the outer corner and Revolt on the lid. I then used Colourpop's Piggy Bank Creme Gel liner for my wing and waterline. I used a very bubblegum-pink blush- essence Pinky Flow- and a combination of OCC lip tars in Iced (frosty white), Hoochie (magenta purple) and NSFW (true red) on the lips. It honestly felt like I ran through a lot of stuff this month, but honestly, it probably only seemed that way because I was running out of things I didn't have replacements for (and sometimes couldn't afford to replace). Here's the products I used up this month! Herbal Essences Tea-Lightfully Clean Shampoo: I would repurchase this! I used it as my second shampoo- first I use Head & Shoulders, and then I would use this as a way to clean my hair and get all of the residue from the first shampoo out. This shampoo was a thinner, waterier consistency than most, and I found that the tea tree oil helped reduce my shoulder acne. Marc Jacobs Highliner in Blacquer: I'm so sad I ran out of this! This is my holy grail eyeliner for the waterline and I can't afford to replace it right now. I will repurchase it when I get the chance, though.
