What's in My Travel Makeup Bag? Weeklong Trip Edition

Image
Hey guys! I hope you're all having a great March Break so far! I'm going to be out and about, away from home all March Break and here's what I packed in my travel bag! It's not the prettiest of bags, I'll admit, but it's functional and I don't really care if it gets dirty in transit. Tadaaaaa. Onto the goods! Smashbox on the Rocks Luxe Palette. I got this at Christmas and haven't really had a chance to play with it yet because I've been panning my Too Faced phone palette. But this definitely has all the eyeshadow colours I need to survive! Maybelline The Vivids Lipstick in Vibrant Mandarin. I recently picked this up and want to really try it out. Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in In the Flesh . I'm going to be meeting up with some relatives and this is a good longwearing lipstick, perfect for gab sessions and days out. Plus the colour is hecka flattering. Anna Sui Lip Rouge in 701. Really want to get a sense of how we...

Everyday Must-Haves

I thought today, you guys see so many of the products I change up everyday- eyeshadow, lipstick, blush- that you might be curious as to what my daily staples are, the things in my routine that don't change! Here are the products that I use every day without fail (and have been doing so for at least two weeks straight without changing it up. 1. theBalm Mary-Lou Manizer Been using for: 3 months My holy grail highlighter, I don't plan on ever using anything else. It's the perfect glow and this huge pan will probably last me just about forever!  2. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Cream Been using for: 5 months Look at the pan on that sucker! I don't wear liquid foundation so I rely on this powder to even me out. It's not perfect, but it works very, very well regardless and I plan on finishing the whole thing and then moving onto something else, probably a loose powder. 3. Too Faced Jingle All The Way Phone Palette Been using for: 9 months...

Earlier this week I posted Megan Snoops. Now it's your turn to do the snooping!  Here's a short post of what I brought in my makeup bag for touch-ups at school today. Here's my bag itself in all its glory. It was a pretty neutral day! Products: Benefit's They're Real! The mascara I've been using on a daily basis. I like to reapply often to see just how big my lashes can get! Wet N Wild Megalast Lipstick in In the Flesh My perfect MLBB lipstick. Maybelline Master Conceal in Fair Indispensible. Sometimes I forget I concealed a pimple and then I pick at it and need to reapply. Rimmel Vinyl Lip Gloss  This never leaves my school bag, but I thought it was worth showing anyway. It's a go-to lip gloss for when I'm bored with my lip color and/or it's fading off. I'm trying to use it completely up. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder For setting the concealer! And brushing on my forehead when it gets grody. Quo Buffing Brush For a...

Megan's Tips to Beauty Blogging

Image
I got an ask on my tumblr asking about tips on how to start a beauty blog! Here are my tips for beauty blogging, punctuated by pictures of my blogging station at my mom's house so you can see a bit behind the action! 1) Blogger is your friend.  If you don’t have a google+ account, make one and start with blogger. It’s a lot easier and user-friendly than tumblr. You can see all your comments, stats, and drafts in one simple place. It’s honestly and truly one of the most user-friendly interfaces I’ve dealt with. I can’t even change my stupid theme on tumblr but on blogger it was so simple to customize and add widgets! Make sure you get the app, too, if you’re going to be using a phone to upload your photos. My blog station is actually the dining room table. 2) Decide what you want to post.  Is it reviews, makeup looks, something else or all of the above? Write a list of post ideas. Some of mine include: Product reviews, Product wishlists, Favourites of the Month, Emptie...
