31 Beauty Favourites of 2015: Days 1-5

Image
Hey guys! I've got finals this weekend, so I thought I'd lump a bunch of favourites for the year into one post. I won't be providing swatches in this post, sadly, but when I get to more "interesting" things- blush, eyeshadow, lipstick- I will. Here are five ultimate favourites I've used or discovered in the year of 2015! Day 1: Foundation Primer Laura Mercier Foundation Primer- Radiance This primer is gorgeous, and while I can't use it everyday- if my skin is too dry or uneven-feeling, I use a smoothing primer- when I do use it, it imparts such a radiant, healthy glow to my face that I love. I try to use this whenever I can! Day 2: Foundation  Wet N Wild Coverall Cream Foundation in Fair My old faithful. I've tried other foundations, but nothing matches my skin tone, undertone, desired amount of coverage and skin type like this does. And for five freaking dollars! It doesn't cling to any dry patches, blends out super nicely, isn...

Review: Too Faced Jingle All the Way Phone Palette

Image
T Once again, I'm going to review a limited-edition product from days past. And once again, I feel bad. Today I have for you my Project Pan That Palette! subject, my Too Faced Jingle All The Way Phone palette, from the 2013 Holiday season. It's my only Too Faced item, and I wanted to show you all how exemplary the quality of the eyeshadow is. I picked this up on sale in the summer of 2014 for a pitiful 15 dollars while in Washington DC, and this year I've chosen to pan it because I have dupes for all of the colours, the pans are small enough so that I won't get discouraged, and the quality is awesome enough that I won't get tired of using it. The palette comes with a phone case for an iPhone 5, which I do not have. It seems kind of cheapo, but honestly it's an adorable concept. It's a cute design, too, and I like the size of the palette as well as how the pans are supposed to resemble phone buttons. As with all pa...

Review: essence sun club all-in-one bronzing highlighter

Image
I've always shied away from bronzer because of how pale I am. When I saw this essence all-in-one "bronzing highlighter" targeted supposedly for "blondes with lighter skin", I figured I'd give it a lark. This bronzer has a highlighter shade, two blush and three bronzing shades. It's a cute design, but not particularly effective for trying to apply one at a time. Another thing to note: it smells like sweet coconut milk! I'm a total sucker for scented powders, if my affinity for Anna Sui is any hint. The highlighter and blush shades (I layered the blushes on top of each other into one swatch) are very chunky and flaky, hard to pick up with my finger. The bronzing shades are a little smoother. Here they are all smooshed together into one swatch. And here's what the powder looked like once I smooshed my finger across every shade... I'll admit, I was kinda scared to put this on my face, because it's very warm-toned. I a...
