I don't know what's taken me so long to review this product, I've had it for eons! Probably the fact that this got lost in my drafts, but... here it is, Rimmel Colour Rush Balm in Drive Me Nude. This was the first nude lip product I ever picked up, so I decided to go with a tinted balm and start slow. The packaging is typical to other chubby balm sticks I've tried, such as Revlon's. It smells very different than others I've tried though- rather than being minty as is the norm, this has a rather strong, delicious scent of soft-serve vanilla ice cream. It's totally delectable. And I have an awful sense of smell too- I can't get any scent off of NYX's Butter products. The scent on this balm dissipates about five to ten minutes after application. My friend was generous enough to get me this for Christmas, and I'm just reviewing it now! Here is Flower Cosmetics' Sheer Up Lip Tint in Dewy Rose. It's a chubby lip pencil that's nearly identical in size and shape to the Revlon Balm sticks, but the packaging is a bit less substantial. The logo is cute, though, printed in gold and evoking all sorts of 1920's flair. Though the product is called Sheer Up, there's nothing sheer about it. Dewy Rose is a bold candy red. It's slightly waxy, hard and draggy in consistency but not in a bad way- in a way that makes it last a lot longer than your average chubby lip pencil. It's got a bit of a shiny finish and the pigmentation of a lipstick. It's fun and cute. I don't know if I'd pay full price for it (more expensive than Revlon's) but if you see this on sale then go ahead and pick one up! It's easy to apply and lasts for hours! Nice job, Drew Barrymore! Oh, man. If you've ever been to the beauty side of youtube, you've heard raves about Revlon's lip butters. People say they're the perfect lip product, totally amazing and moisturizing and lovely colours and JUST SO GREAT. I'm here to give you my take on them! I've owned two Revlon lip butters and I'm going to review just Sorbet, because I chucked the other one (Lollipop? Gumdrop? It was a pastel purple that just looked like pure hell) a couple months back. I'm going to start by saying that I don't wear this often so it hasn't had the chance to really grow on me. Sorry for the lack of posts in the past few days, I've been sick as a dog! Today I'm going to give myself a blast from the past and review the very first coloured lip products I ever wore- Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers. They were a huge turning point in my makeup-wearing career. Raisin was the first shade I owned, picked up at a Cracker Barrel during a particularly long, heinous drive to Florida when I was in the seventh grade. This is actually its second incarnation- I still have the first one, but it's too gross to show you. (Top to Bottom- Caramel, Cocoa, Raisin) Caramel is a sheer light pinky-brown with shimmer. I wear it when I'm feeling lazy. Cocoa is a plum-brown with shimmer. Raisin is a berry red with shimmer. They're all moderately glossy. Caramel. Cocoa. Raisin. I had almost forgotten that I put these items in my shopping cart for my birthday e.l.f. Haul! So it was a pleasant surprise to take them out of the box when I received it in the mail. That's the only good thing about 25-day processing and shipping times- when you finally do get your hauls, it's like Christmas because you've forgotten what you ordered! In the few days I've been wearing them, I am SO satisfied with these balms. I am NOT a lip balm person- the only balm I've ever liked wearing is Burt's Bees lip shimmer in Raisin (a deep red). I was especially wary of the packaging- though very professional-looking and pretty, I HATE HATE HATE sticking my sore, cracked fingertips into pots of sticky gloss and attempting to smear it across my lips.
